Corrections Policy

How to report an error, and how corrections appear on our articles.

ALFA USA News reports from SEC filings at speed, and speed produces errors. This page explains what we do about them.

Our commitment

We correct errors promptly and visibly. We do not quietly delete or rewrite an article to make a mistake disappear.

How to report an error

Email [email protected] with:

  • the link to the article,
  • the statement you believe is wrong, and
  • what you believe is correct — ideally with the filing or document that shows it.

Anyone can report an error: the company concerned, an investor or any reader. You do not need to be a subscriber.

What happens next

  • Acknowledgement. We aim to reply to every report within one working day.
  • Check. We re-read the original SEC filing. The filing decides — not our article, and not the complaint.
  • Action. If we got it wrong, we fix it. If we got it right, we say so and explain why, citing the filing.

How a correction appears

Where an error changes what a story means — a wrong company, figure or counterparty — the article is corrected and a note is added saying what was wrong and what it now says. Small fixes such as spelling are made without a note.

When we take an article down

Only when it should never have been published — for example, if the filing it was written from was withdrawn. We do not remove accurate reporting because a company would prefer it were not there.

Errors in market data

Share price, market cap and similar figures come from a third-party provider. If one of them is wrong, tell us anyway: where a figure is materially misleading, we remove it from the article while it is checked.
